One game at the store has been pulling my eye, but I've never actually picked it up, and that's Battlestations. I was wondering if anyone has played it, and what they thought of it? -shnar |

I have played it a number of times and it was fun at first but I think that our group has gotten too big. It just takes too much time now and you are left sitting on your hands for too long while you wait for your turn. If you keep a reasonably sized group, (say 5 or 6 players), it will be fun. You get around 7 or 8 or more, it can get tedious.

That's how I feel about World of Warcraft the boardgame. It seemed like HALF the players are sitting on their thumbs for a good 30 minutes while the other team is rolling for the encounter.
My group though is only about 4 to 6 people, so this might be a good fit :)

Awesome game!
I've played Battlestations extensively and absolutely love it. It's a great cross between a board game and a role-playing game. Light-hearted and fast-pace, it's mostly an action board game, but it leaves room for character flavor and has an excellent campaign system that allows your character to improve, get promoted, gain new skills, etc. If you need any more incentive, almost every single person I've played the game with has bought their own copy. I highly recommend it.
